Ukraine does not believe in the existence of a Russian vaccine against Covid-19
Ukraine plans to purchase a Covid-19 vaccine from the Americans, Swedes or Chinese.
The Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Based on Stepanov’s words, Ukraine is ready to cooperate with any vaccine manufacturers except the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian minister deliberately did not indicate companies from the Russian Federation among those developing drugs, emphasizing that there is no registered vaccine in the world yet.
“We are talking to almost all the leaders in terms of vaccine development. What kind of companies are these? Firstly, we are negotiating with AstraZeneca, a well-known company that is developing this vaccine together with Oxford University. They are now in the third phase of clinical trials and expect completion of clinical trials and registration of the vaccine in the fourth quarter.
We are negotiating, we are expecting proposals from them on the number of vaccines that they will be ready to supply and in what order they will be ready to supply us. We will be ready to pay the advance payment right away. In addition, we are negotiating with the Chinese manufacturer Sinovac, which is also in the third stage of clinical trials, and we also expect the final draft from them, how many doses they are ready to supply...
In addition, we communicate with other companies - is it Johnson & Johnson? Pfizer, Moderna, American company. Unfortunately, today there is not a single company that has produced and already registered a vaccine,” Stepanov said.
It is noteworthy that Russia was the first in the world to develop and register Covid-19 vaccine developed by the Vector Center.
