According to Reznikov, this would be a guarantee of Ukraine’s security in the context of Russia’s strengthening.
“Russia has already de facto occupied the Sea of Azov and has completely changed the balance in the Black Sea, completely militarized it. We are especially concerned about the actions of the Russian Federation aimed at preparing Crimea for the deployment of nuclear weapons there. It is with the support of Crimea that Russia carries out military operations in the Middle East and Africa and influences the Balkans. Now the same thing is happening with Nord Stream 2. The three Baltic countries will be under terrible pressure,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
“Poland is also under direct threat. For Ukraine and the Baltic countries this is an almost guaranteed escalation, and for the rest of Europe - total dependence in the future and guaranteed blackmail. I am convinced that it is necessary to strengthen sanctions against the companies that are implementing this project and prevent its launch. It is important to expand the security package for Ukraine. First of all, through the deployment of air defense forces, even through the deployment of American units. Our legislation allows this,” said Reznikov.

“Deepening bilateral and multilateral military cooperation with Ukraine is a necessary step for European security. We believe that the time has come to talk about the permanent presence of allied troops on the territory of Ukraine. There is not enough progress in NATO integration. The most important thing: we must send a clear signal to Moscow about our unity and devotion,” notes the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister.
