Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov claims that the Ukrainian army has improved its positions in the Donbass and has advanced 10 kilometers deeper.

A Ukrainian official stated this in an interview with Hromadska, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s nice to say that both 2016 and 2017 differed from previous years in that we did not give up a single meter of our land. Moreover, our units in some areas have advanced 10 kilometers or more, improving their positions. This is a fact,” Turchynov said.
According to him, all attempts by the opposing side to change the configuration on the demarcation line “ended in fiasco.”
“They were unable to recapture any of the settlements or move forward. On the contrary, I want to emphasize once again that our military has improved its position, and today there are no forces in the occupied territory that could change the demarcation line that has developed today,” the NSDC Secretary assures.
At the same time, as PolitNavigator reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces often come up with fake victories, declaring settlements “liberated”, which were already under the control of Kyiv.
