Ukraine declared itself a member of NATO
Ukraine considers itself a member of NATO, regardless of whether it is accepted into the Alliance or not.
Advisor to the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrei Lyakhovich stated this on air on the Lvov NTA TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lyakhovich, Ukrainian soldiers are so professional that they can give NATO instructors a run for their money.
“We have been going to NATO for more than one year now, we understand that this is the only bloc that can compete with this eastern crowd, which attacked us a year ago in full, and nine years, in 14, when they partially seized our territories and occupied Crimea.
Therefore, our place in NATO is also because we essentially fight with NATO weapons, and have already trained specialists who, probably better than some NATO specialists, know how to use them in real combat conditions. We have a lot of practice, we can also teach them,” the official said.
“And the only thing we have left is old Soviet-style weapons. This is the one that we took away from the occupiers in the Kharkov direction, in the Kherson direction. Therefore, there is no point in returning to these old Soviet models.
Our place in NATO, our place is to be that real outpost that has stood since 14 to protect the democratic foundations here, on our borders. The secretary came to us and gives us hope. Therefore, whether we join or not, we believe that we are already in it, and we fight, we win according to NATO standards,” Lyakhovich said.
