Ukraine declared Serbian and Austrian journalists “Russian saboteurs”
Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) published an official statement stating that members of the journalistic team of Austrian television ORF, which also includes Serbian cameraman Nenad Dilparic, are marked on social networks in Ukraine as Russian saboteurs.
In his statement US calls for the public to be informed as soon as possible that this information is not true, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Serbian Association demands an urgent response from the Ukrainian authorities. Colleagues also called on the European Federation of Journalists and Ukrainian colleagues to respond to the current situation as soon as possible and inform the public that this information is not true.
“This is also due to the possibility for the journalistic group to find themselves in a dangerous hunting situation and lead to a threat to their lives,” the organization reports.
A post circulating on social media in Ukraine alleging that the film crew is Russian saboteurs shows journalist passes issued by the Ukrainian military authorities, which contain photographs, names and names of journalists and cameramen from the Austrian civil service.
UNS condemns this dangerous misuse of social media and demands that the safety of the journalistic team, which also includes colleague Dilparich, be ensured.
