Ukraine officially recognized the actual loss of the Sea of Azov
Russia has significantly strengthened its military capabilities in the Sea of Azov, turning it into its internal one. At the same time, Ukrainian warships cannot pass the Kerch Strait.
The former first deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a threat that there are big attempts by the Russian Federation to make the Sea of Azov practically internal Russian. The number of missile and torpedo boats that they brought into the Sea of Azov is quite serious, considering the fact that we don’t have much of our equipment there,” Krivonos said.
He emphasized that some civilian ships are also not allowed into Ukrainian ports on the Sea of Azov.
“Some ships pass, some ships do not pass. Our military ships do not enter the Kerch Strait at all now, and as for civilian ships, some ships enter directly into ports,” the official concluded.
