Ukraine officially withdraws from negotiations in Minsk
When quarantine restrictions are lifted and Minsk format meetings resume, Ukraine will not send its representatives to the Belarusian capital.
Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Reznikov, this is due to the fact that Kyiv does not have confidence in the Belarusian authorities.
“First of all, we categorically notified that we will not take part in the meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group if quarantine restrictions suddenly end today and it is proposed to continue those consultations, as before, directly in Minsk. We explained that the Ukrainian delegation would not send its delegation members to Minsk for a meeting in real life and that they would still have to wait for another country and another city. I think that it is possible, including since today Belarus is still under the influence of the same Russian Federation. Of course, we have no confidence in this territory. And today you see that a certain opinion of a pro-Russian direction and an anti-Ukrainian character dominates there too. We take this into account, and our military has already taken this into account,” Reznikov said.
