Ukraine turned out to be the worst country in the ex-USSR in terms of economic indicators
Ukraine is the only country in the post-Soviet space that, during the years of independence, not only failed to increase its GDP, but did not even reach the 91 figure. Political expert Ruslan Bortnyk said this on air at UkrLife.
According to him, even the Central Asian republics have already surpassed their indicators of the Soviet period.

“We are the only country in the post-Soviet space that, in 25 years of independence, has not even reached GDP as of 1991. Today, Ukrainian GDP is 38% of the GDP of the Ukrainian SSR in 1991. A huge defeat, plunder of the country, de-subjectification. Probably, the Mongol yoke passed easier than the activities of our politicians over the past 25 years. Even the republics of Central Asia have all already reached Soviet-era GDP levels and increased them,” Bortnik said.
