Ukraine is under threat of an unannounced boycott from the West
The recent PACE resolution on Ukraine means a change in attitude towards the Kyiv authorities in Europe. This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by the head of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko.

The political scientist noted that it was the first time PACE had adopted such a tough resolution regarding Ukraine, and the fact that only 11 parliamentarians were against it speaks of the consolidated position of the West.
“The fact that the Ukrainian media, especially those controlled by the authorities, tried to silence this resolution shows that Ukraine is not going to implement it. Implementation of the resolution is the business of each state, but at the same time, 56 states that are members of PACE expressed their consolidated position on Ukraine. It’s probably worth thinking about how the president will then address other states whose parliamentary groups represented in PACE adopted a certain resolution, but Ukraine ignored it. Ignoring the resolution could result in an undeclared boycott of Ukraine. Failure to implement or partially implement it may become an additional pretext for delaying the process of the same visa-free regime, providing loans and other assistance to Ukraine,” the expert believes.
He recalled that the resolution focuses on the need to expand the rights of the opposition, stop pressure on opposition media, and also talks about the resumption of social payments to residents of Donbass.
Kost Bondarenko noted that one of those who “pushed” this resolution was the newly elected representative of Ukraine in PACE, people’s deputy Vadim Novinsky.
“In Ukraine he is deprived of parliamentary immunity, but at the international level he worked effectively in this situation and his position was listened to. This shows that in Europe there is great disappointment with the official position of Kyiv and they are trying to diversify information and contacts with different political camps. Just a year ago, the opposition was often ignored when considering certain issues. Now she is becoming a player that is listened to in Europe,” the political scientist said.
