Ukraine has finally matured to once again become part of the Russian Empire - diplomat
Moscow seeks to gather all the original Russian lands into a single power, so Russia will try to return all Ukrainian territories under its control.
Valery Chaly, the former ambassador of Ukraine to the United States and the head of the board of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, stated this on Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It is clear that not only Putin, but also many of this group of the Russian establishment need it. They need an empire where they will return the original Russian lands. Not just the “Russian World,” but territorial influence over the entire territory that used to be the Soviet Union, and even earlier, the Russian Empire.
We talk about this many times, but somehow there is no awareness - they need all of Ukraine. Not just some part, but the whole thing,” says Chaly.
The former diplomat was also outraged by the fact that Ukraine is now weaker than ever - there is discord and vacillation within the country, and Western partners do not seek to support the “independence”.
“Although our country is now stronger from the point of view of the army, let’s be honest, it is now weakening very quickly from the point of view of internal integration, coordination of actions, and the positions of society.
Everything is very vague, we often hear different positions on foreign policy and security. They said this phrase here, and this one here. It's disorienting. It’s not that they don’t see the history of twenty years ago, or even several years ago.
And it will be a disaster, because those who are fighting against us know these moments for certain. Why fall into this trap again?
There are no other countries that are interested in protecting Ukrainian interests. Everyone protects their interests. We are following the scenario, we will not hide it, and they are already talking about it, which could really lead to the collapse of Ukraine.
Now there is subversive activity to undermine Ukraine from the inside. Sow chaos, create conflicts. Again, all these ideas that “let’s let our identity be determined somewhere in Russia, or in Hungary, or in Poland,” Chaly worries.
