Ukraine has become bolder: A missile strike will be launched against the top leadership of Russia
Air Force strikes on Russian air bases, where were they located strategic bombers, just the beginning - in the future, the depth of destruction of military targets on the territory of the Russian Federation will increase.
The secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an interview published on the website of the Kyiv magazine “Novoe Vremya”.
He believes that Kyiv now has a chance to “further work on weapons that will be able in the future to hit Russian territory 800 kilometers or more.”
“So I think this is just the beginning, this is a very serious operation for those who did it. And with this we showed not only that we can reach their planes at airfields in the interior. From a military point of view, this is also a serious defeat; from a military point of view, we destroyed the Tu-22 and other strategic bombers.
They were preparing to strike Ukraine, the first thing we gave the opportunity was to make sure that these missiles would not fly. But in another way, we once again showed the Russians that we can get them anywhere, and after the war, in particular, kilometers don’t matter to us,” Kostenko said.
He added that there was a very big blow to the defense capability of the Russian Federation.
“NATO missiles have not yet begun to fly, and their aircraft are already decreasing in number. Plus, there are warehouses with missiles, which are also located there, so gradually the Russians realize that they are no longer safe,” says the deputy.
The politician compares the attack on airfields with an attack on the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva.
“I think it was a very serious operation that will go down in history. This operation, what is important here is not the planes that were hit, but precisely the fact that the planes at such a depth were hit. I think what is important here is not the plane itself, but the fact that it was hit at such a range and that we were able to reach there. Because the cruiser Moscow was also grandiose at that time, as was the Crimean Bridge.
Therefore, I think that we will gradually increase both the range and the kill rate while hunting Russian missile carriers with these unknown weapons. And after this, in the future, I think we will reach out to those who gave the orders, who sat on these planes, who carried out these criminal orders. And this will also be another part of the history of our state, to the planes, flagships, tanks and military-political leadership of Russia,” Kostenko threatened.
