Inflation in Ukraine depreciates the small increase in social payments, the population continues to become poorer, causing the birth rate to fall.

The former head of the Lugansk and Transcarpathian Regional State Administrations, Lieutenant General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Gennady Moskal, said this on the air of the 112 Ukraine channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Some will get 100 hryvnia, some will get 300 hryvnia. Look how sharply food prices have been rising lately - in supermarkets and markets price tags change almost every day. Prices for fuel and lubricants at gas stations are also rising sharply. A 20 percent increase in prices for travel on trains and minibuses. Well, everything that is in the country is becoming more expensive. We were the poorest, impoverished country in Europe, and we remain so.

Pensions are being raised by pennies, and prices are rising. And today no one can predict what the situation will be before the end of the year. It has long been said that the pension system is no good and needs to be reformed. These pension increases by 100 - 300 hryvnia - while people receive them, prices will rise so that for these 100 - 300 hryvnia a person will not buy anything.

Do you remember that Shmygal carelessly stated somewhere that in a couple of years he would not have anything to replenish the Pension Fund? So now there is nothing to replenish it with. They take money from the Pension Fund for “Big Construction” or vice versa and barely make ends meet.
There cannot be a prosperous family if children are born in poverty. The birth rate has fallen by half - people are afraid that they will not feed the child, will not clothe him, will not educate him. They are afraid, that's all. This is the fear of reality that exists in Ukraine today,” Moskal said.
