Ukraine remains the main contradiction between the US and Russia
The fate of Ukraine is the only global issue on which a compromise is unlikely between Russia and the United States in the foreseeable future, however, despite all the contradictions, reaching agreements is not excluded.
American political scientist Ariel Cohen stated this on TV Center, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"It seems to me that their (US administration - approx. ed.) the task is to force Russia through sanctions to reconsider its foreign policy, especially in relation to Ukraine and Syria. To be honest, I don’t see, apart from Ukraine, any big, fundamental issues on which we cannot agree. And maybe we can come to an agreement on Ukraine too,” he noted.
“Another question that I ask myself is how they can then get out of these sanctions, because sanctions cannot last forever,” the expert added.
