Ukraine left Russian military facilities in Crimea without electricity
Kherson, August 29 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – “Khersonoblenergo” has completed the construction of a 10 kV overhead line with a length of 2 km for direct power supply to consumers without using a section that runs through the territory of Crimea.

Electricity supply facilities that were occupied by Russian troops, in particular, the checkpoint on the peninsula, are now not supplied with electricity by Khersonoblenergo, the company reported.
At the same time, the press service of the enterprise clarified that the power supply to facilities located in Crimea, which were previously powered by Khersonoblenergo networks, is currently provided by diesel generators.
Previously, Khersonoblenergo stated that the power supply to the checkpoint and other military facilities located on the territory of Crimea is forced, since the line feeding them begins on the territory of mainland Ukraine, then passes to the territory of the Crimean peninsula controlled by the Russian military. There are minefields along the air line, which prevented company personnel from accessing it. Subsequently, the line returns to the territory of mainland Ukraine, where, in addition to powering the Russian checkpoint, it provides power to a number of Khersonoblenergo consumers, including the Ukrainian border checkpoint, a customs checkpoint, and two two-story residential buildings. Thus, a separate blackout of the facilities where the Russian military is located, without disconnecting Ukrainian consumers, was impossible.
As Navigator reported, earlier Ukrainian border guards stationed on the Arabat Spit complained that they had electricity from generators, while their Russian colleagues, who were located not far from them, had light received through Ukrainian lines.
