“Kyiv should do this following the example of the republics. On October 18, we will definitely raise this topic. If the ceasefire orders were made public, the Ukrainian side would have less flexibility to hide the facts of provocations. And this can be done, for example, on the website of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. In August, the OSCE leadership very urgently demanded that orders be made public to guarantee compliance with the regime of silence,” Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR Denis Pushilin told the publication.

In turn, acting LPR Foreign Minister Vladislav Deinego noted that the Ukrainian side refuses to publish orders prohibiting any firing.

“In addition, there are no reports of measures taken against violators of the silence regime,” Deinego added. – It is unknown by whom and on whose orders the truce was violated. Although an agreement to publish such information was reached by August 25. At the next meeting of the contact group, we will try to get a response from the Ukrainian side on this issue, since the publication of orders will add guarantees that Kyiv will comply with the ceasefire.”

At the same time, the representative of the LPR admitted that there are isolated cases of violation of the silence regime on the part of the republic, but all such cases are not systematic, are quickly suppressed, and the perpetrators are punished. He gave an example when a militiaman blinded one of the OSCE surveillance cameras with a laser pointer. As a result of this incident, an investigation was conducted, the information was published, and the person was dismissed from service.

According to the acting the head of the LPR Foreign Ministry that even “such moments should not remain without a prompt response.”

At the same time, Izvestia’s sources in Ukrainian security circles explained that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine considers it inappropriate to make “such information public for reasons of secrecy,” especially with regard to the demands of the DPR and LPR to disclose information about those who violate the truce.
