Ukraine has renounced peace. Scandalous statement by the Minister of Defense
Ukraine will not withdraw troops along the entire front line, since this contradicts the strategic goals of Kyiv, which is trying to prove that Russia is an “aggressor.”
This conclusion follows from the statement of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andrei Zagorodnyuk, voiced on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the department called the Russian Federation an enemy and said that the process of disengaging troops along the entire front line would take too much time.
“The Ministry of Defense and the state in general are not considering plans for a general disengagement along the entire line. Because this contradicts our strategic goals, since we adhere to the Minsk agreements, and this concept of disengagement along the entire line contradicts the Minsk agreements in essence.
That is, the Minsk agreements stipulate that illegal armed groups must disarm and leave our country. Just like foreign troops. Well, which ones are foreign, you can guess. And breeding would change this paradigm.
We have an enemy - Russia, the Russian Federation and an aggressor - the Russian Federation. If anyone has doubts, I can repeat this as many times as I like. And this would contradict the essence of the Minsk agreements, and it would also delay the entire process of their implementation. And this is a very long process that would take us into years of uncertainty,” Zagorodnyuk said.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that at the Normandy Four summit held at the end of last year, the parties couldn't agree on the widespread disengagement of troops along the entire front line.
It was also reported that due to increased shelling in those settlements where troops had been withdrawn, a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Normandy Four was in danger of collapse.
