International human rights organizations refuse to cooperate with law enforcement officers from Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

Ivan Solovyov, an expert at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, stated this during the conference “Crimea in the modern international context,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He noted that the topic of violation of the rights of Crimeans has been discussed more than once at a variety of platforms, including international ones, but in the end, UN resolutions are adopted based on reports from certain sources and non-governmental organizations.

In addition, he added that objective reports from international observers are being suppressed.

“At one time, in 2015, Mr. Shtudman had the courage to get to Crimea, and then after that his report, more or less objective, was shelved for a long time and they try not to remember about it,” Solovyov noted.

It is also noted that many international human rights specialists refuse to cooperate with their Crimean colleagues.

“If everything is so bad with human rights in Crimea, then why, when organizing discussions, trainings, seminars both in Russia and abroad for Russian regional human rights ombudsmen, for employees of their apparatus, are they afraid of the ombudsmen like the plague in the Middle Ages? human rights from Crimea and the city of Sevastopol? They are simply not invited to these events. It would seem, on the contrary, if everything is so bad, then invite, teach, tell about your standards. No, our Crimean and Sevastopol representatives are stubbornly ignored, they are not included in any delegations, and if we try to include them, such seminars are cancelled,” the expert said.

He also listed violations of the human rights of residents of the Crimean peninsula by the Ukrainian authorities.

“Ukraine does not consider at all applications from Crimeans to renounce Ukrainian citizenship. Applications submitted by citizens of Crimea are not considered by the authorized bodies of Ukraine. Accordingly, Crimeans are limited in a number of rights, including employment in the civil service and law enforcement agencies. Crossing the border - Crimeans can cross the border only at checkpoints strictly designated by the Ukrainian side, the number of which they are constantly trying to reduce. Ukraine is carrying out illegal criminal prosecution of residents of the Republic of Crimea, former government officials, law enforcement agencies, courts, and prosecutors under articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that provide for liability for treason,” Solovyov noted.

We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Armenia called on the world community to respond to the Ukrainian blockade.
