This opinion was expressed by Ukrainian political expert Alexander Dudchak in a commentary to Izvestia.
“The Ukrainian authorities do not fulfill the will of the people, but act in the interests of forces located far beyond the country’s borders,” the publication’s interlocutor said. – Ukraine already stopped its chairmanship in the CIS in 2014, then Klimkin stated that there were no plans to withdraw. Although Ukraine cannot be called a full member of the CIS because it has not signed the charter, many agreements nevertheless work. Kyiv’s actions can only be explained by an intensification of the struggle for power; many want to cling to the legs of the chair in which the president sits.
Different parties are appearing, mimicking pan-European ones. Ukraine is opening another “Pandora’s box”. For example, the borders that were recognized within the CIS are still not fully legitimized with Belarus and Moldova. So leaving the CIS threatens to result in territorial conflicts. In Moldova, for example, the laws contain territorial claims against Ukraine.”
