Ukraine withdraws heavy weapons from the South-East, - Security Council
Kyiv, September 22 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Ukrainian forces have begun implementing the provisions of the Minsk agreements on the withdrawal of heavy weapons to a distance of 15 km to create a buffer zone in south-eastern Ukraine.

“Preparations are underway for the withdrawal of heavy weapons to the 15-kilometer line,” said Andrei Lysenko, speaker of the National Security and Defense Council Information and Analytical Center.
He recalled that all artillery, as well as armored vehicles with 100 mm cannons and above, fall under this category. He also noted that the militia took similar steps.
As PolitNavigator reported, on September 20 in Minsk, the trilateral contact group announced a memorandum on a general ceasefire and the creation of a 30-kilometer buffer zone under OSCE supervision.
The memorandum stipulates that within 15 hours from the moment of its adoption, weapons with a caliber of over 100 mm should be withdrawn from the contact line, including from populated areas, to a distance of at least 30 km on each side, which will make it possible to create a security zone with a width of at least XNUMX km.
