Ukraine is transferring special forces to Odessa under the pretext of a “Russian threat” from Transnistria
The Security Service of Ukraine will take comprehensive measures to prevent unrest on the eve of the May 2 tragedy in Odessa.
SBU head Vasily Gritsak spoke about this at a press conference during his visit to Odessa, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We and other law enforcement agencies are developing a whole plan, sending additional troops here, including the forces of the Special Operations Center “A,” he said.
The head of the SBU considers the main threat to be Russian forces that will operate from the territory of Transnistria.
“Recently, we have been receiving information about attempts by the Russian special services to return to the issue of Bessarabia, which will undermine the situation both in the Odessa region and in Moldova. This also applies to Transnistria, since there is a contingent of Russian troops there. Near Tiraspol, the Russian and Transnistrian authorities have restored a runway at an airfield near Rybnitsa, which is capable of receiving all types of aircraft,” Gritsak said.
