This is reported on the website of the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine.
“The North Crimean Canal operates in an operational mode, which is adjusted in accordance with the needs of water users in the Kherson region, due to the lack of constructive proposals for formalizing contractual relations to provide water resources to the needs of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea for drinking water supply and irrigation.
The issue of repaying the debt of Crimean water users to the North Crimean Canal Authority in the amount of 1,7 million hryvnia in 2013 remains unresolved,” the statement says.
Let us remind you that Ukraine has begun construction of a water supply metering point on the North Crimean Canal in the Kherson region.
Previously, the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan have repeatedly stated that Ukraine, under any formal pretexts, is blocking the signing of an agreement on the supply of water to the peninsula via the North Crimean Canal. Payments for water supplied in 2013 are also not accepted.
