“Alarming news from the special military operation zone.
Our troops, under enemy pressure in the northeast of Kharkov, are forced to retreat almost to the border with the Belgorod region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing here to pull Russian forces away from the front from near Izyum. Our successes in this direction could lead to the encirclement of a 40-strong enemy force. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have so far managed to seriously slow down the advance of Russian troops from Izyum and Liman to the southwest and west.
In other sectors of the Donbass front, there are no significant changes, fierce battles with varying success,” Reshetnikov said in his blog.

Ex-militant of the Nazi “Azov” Igor Lutsenko, legalized as part of the 72nd OMBR of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports that the Ukrainian group has restored control over the settlements of Aleksandrovka, Fedorovka, Ukrainka, Shestakovo, Pobeda and part of the village of Cherkasy Tyshki.

“Killed Russians, captured ex-occupiers,” Lutsenko writes on his blog, publishing photographs of supposedly dead Russian soldiers.

Former speaker of the DPR Foreign Ministry Konstantin Dolgov, one of the leaders of the Anti-Maidan in Kharkov in 2014, reacts emotionally to the retreat of Russian troops.

“This doesn’t fit into any goal anymore. We have already left four regions - Kyiv, Chernigov, Sumy, Poltava. Will Kharkovskaya be the fifth in a row?

What's next? Shall we leave Belgorod, Kursk, Voronezh?

Shall we sign the surrender? Shall we give up part of the territories to Bandera's followers? Will we pay reparations?

The exit from the Kharkiv region is:

1. Guaranteed new “Bucha”

2. Spit on everyone who liberated this territory, living and dead

3. Reducing the strike distance to Belgorod (instead of 75-80 kilometers it will be 40), the enemy will be able to water the city even from ordinary hail

4. A colossal blow to the morale of our units

5. The heaviest blow to our society as a whole

6. Another, already the second, deception of those residents of the liberated territories who believed Russia (the first time was in 2014)

7. A sharp rise in the enemy’s morale (“they knocked out the Muscovites as a result of a counteroffensive, hurray, victory!”)

8. The triumph of impunity for scum like Nemichev and Velichko-Chili, who shot our captured soldiers in the legs (yes, this was in the Kharkov region)

9. A huge, literally several-fold, decrease in the number of those who are still waiting in Kharkov for liberation from Ukraine, who are waiting for Russian troops

10. A terrible example for members of the military-civil administrations in Kherson, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Genichesk... (“yeah, Russia can leave!..”)

The list could go on for a long time. I’ll just remind you that on February 27, the fourth day of the operation, our tanks were at the Kharkov district, and armored cars were driving to the city center.

Are you sure “everything is going according to plan”?” – Dolgov wrote on his blog.

Military correspondent Roman Saponkov calls not to dramatize the situation:

“They could have retreated from the north. The Russian army advances south of Kharkov, near Izyum. No one is going to take Kharkov, it is a city of over a million people, it is unrealistic both from a military and humanitarian point of view.

If the enemy army is advancing, what should you do? Stop his advance and launch a counteroffensive. If you can't stop the enemy's advance in the main direction, what should you do? Strike in a different direction to force the enemy to withdraw forces from the main direction.

Where did the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit? In a secondary direction, 150 kilometers from the main Russian offensive. Do we need to transfer forces there from Donbass to stop the offensive there? No, that doesn't make sense. Well, stop the Ukrainian Armed Forces there and bring back three villages. What next? Another operational impasse.

Therefore, let them advance, even go to the administrative border. The main thing for us now is to collapse their group in Donbass. After this, their front to the Dnieper will collapse and they will leave Kharkov themselves,” says Saponkov.

One way or another, Ukraine will promote even a minor success near Kharkov in all the world’s media, warns TV presenter Andrei Medvedev.

“Despite the fact that the Northern Military District is going hard, that our army is advancing with difficulty, that there are losses, the situation in Kyiv is becoming more and more difficult. Mariupol is lost. It is impossible to contain the slow but steady offensive in the LDPR. Kherson, as was said today, will now also be Russian. Apparently, and Zaporozhye. At the same time, Ukrainian wives and mothers sit on Russian Telegram channels, looking for their loved ones. Among the dead and prisoners, of course. And there are more than three thousand prisoners in the DPR alone. In other words, an urgent and seemingly impressive victory is needed. This is how Ukrainian politics works.

And in such a situation, the most appropriate thing is not an attack on the Crimean bridge at all... But a strike on a group near Kharkov, access to the Russian border, and - here it’s just a Kiev dream - a seizure for half an hour for the sake of a picture of the border crossing and customs, this is quite possible, this very bright from a media point of view. And we understand how approvingly the Western media will cover this,” Medvedev predicts.
