Kyiv, October 01 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – Ukraine has surpassed African countries and warring Syria in terms of the level of depreciation of the hryvnia, said Anatoly Guley, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange.
He stated this at the round table “100 days of Gontareva: successes and failures of the new leadership of the NBU.”

“To date, since the beginning of the year we have had a devaluation of 66%. The African country of Ghana has 62%. In Syria, where the war is on a larger scale than ours, it is only 20%.
This suggests that the lustration process needs to start in the banking environment... I would start the certification and lustration procedure with the NBU. Remove from there those people who brought the NBU, the government and our economy to this state, when it became poorly managed,” the expert said.
