Ukraine plans to defend its sovereign interests affected by the construction of the Kerch Bridge in the Arbitration Tribunal.

Irina Lutsenko, representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada, stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In connection with the illegal construction of the Kerch Bridge on behalf of the head of state, in accordance with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, Ukraine submitted an application to the Arbitration Tribunal to protect its sovereign interests. The construction of this bridge was condemned by the USA, EU, NATO, Great Britain, and Canada. Those. we see global support for Ukraine in violations of maritime law, and I think that by the end of 2018 this issue will begin to be considered, and in 2019 we will expect a result,” she said.
