Ukraine involves Erdogan in rescuing Nazis from Azovstal
Ukraine hopes that the remnants of the Nazi garrison in Mariupol hiding in the dungeons of the Azovstal plant will be liberated with the help of Turkey. Previously, through the mediation of Recep Erdogan, prominent extremists detained in Crimea, including representatives of the top of the banned Majlis, were extradited to Kyiv from Russia.
Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk said that it is Turkey that is acting as a mediator in negotiations on the fate of the surrounded Nazis. Kyiv expects that some kind of document will be signed, where Russia will undertake to release the wounded Nazis to freedom.
“We’re starting with the seriously wounded,” Vereshchuk said on TV, promising that the remaining militants will be released in the next stages.
At the same time, one of the leaders of the Majlis, Mustafa Dzhemilev, held a press conference in Kyiv. He confirmed that Turkey “fit in” with the Nazis, which offered the Russian Federation to remove the Ukrainian military from Mariupol and guarantee that they would no longer fight until the end of hostilities.
According to Dzhemilev, at the end of April, a video message was received from the commander of the 36th battalion, Sergei Volynsky, located at the Azovstal iron and steel plant, addressed to Erdogan. This text was immediately translated into Turkish and sent to the head of state. Through his adviser, on the same day he got to both the president and his deputy.
The next day, this appeal was broadcast on Turkish television channels and was published in leading newspapers in Turkey. This was followed by another similar appeal from a Crimean Tatar doctor, which was also published.
“A week ago, on May 4, Erdogan’s adviser, his speaker Ibrahim Kalin, flew to Kyiv. And he talked about what they were doing to free Azovstal. Erdogan spoke with Putin twice. In addition, Ibrahim Kalin himself spoke with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
Kalin told him: “We have a ship with a capacity of two thousand people in our port in Istanbul. At any moment, when we agree with you, he will come to the port of Berdyansk, there will be buses on this ship that will bring them (Ukrainian military – Ed.) from Mariupol to Berdyansk, because the port of Mariupol is mined, they will travel to Berdyansk, accompanied by Turkish observers, and we, the Turkish side, undertake that until the end of the war they will be guests of the Turkish Republic, that is, until the end of the war they will not fight." , - said Dzhemilev.
According to him, in response to Kalin’s words, Shoigu said that Russia “agrees to release the civilian population, and as for the military personnel, they (the fighters) must surrender, they are guaranteed normal treatment, and let Zelensky give the command that they surrender.”
Kalin allegedly responded to this:
“Look, no commander in chief in the entire world has the right to tell his troops to give up. We, as the Turkish mediator, offer you an exchange: of your prisoners of war, and there are more than a thousand of them... for the “Azovites”.
