Ukraine raises its paws in front of Russia
The decision of the Ukrainian court, allowing the captain of the previously seized Russian ship “Nord” to travel to Crimea, indicates a situational détente between the two countries.
This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by the director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik.
“I think two things had an impact. The first is the agreements between Ukraine and Russia based on the results of the telephone conversation between the presidents, which made it possible to launch the work of human rights ombudsmen. There was some situational détente between the two countries. The second is the actual blockade, which was tripled by Russian border structures and the fleet on Ukrainian trade routes in the Sea of Azov, when all ships that went to Ukrainian ports were constantly stopped and checked.”
As PolitNavigator reported, Kherson City Court allowed The captain of the Russian ship “Nord”, Vladimir Gorbenko, who was previously detained in Ukraine, is allowed to travel to Crimea, refusing to extend the ban on leaving the country to prosecutors.
We also reported that Ukrainian experts are shocked the speed of redeployment of Russian ships to the Sea of Azov.
