Ukraine is sinking into debt
In the near future, Ukrainian external debt will reach a record level of $80 billion. Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With the receipt of a billion euros of “macro-financial assistance” from the EU and an associated loan from the IMF - we are talking about about 4 billion dollars for a period of one and a half years, Ukraine’s public debt - external and internal - could come close to a record amount of 80 billion dollars.
By the end of this year, Kyiv needs to return 3,4 billion to foreign creditors, and next year twice that amount. And this means that for a country ending the year with a negative balance of payments, it is possible to repay loans only by attracting new ones, paying for them with forests, state property and impoverishment of the population,” the publication sums up.
As PolitNavigator reported, in Kyiv do not exclude the possibility of paying off debts territories will have to face the IMF.
In addition, Poroshenko admitted that Ukraine has nothing to pay with on debts.
