“Working citizens of Ukraine live below the poverty line by UN standards, receiving less than $17 a day. All Ukrainian pensioners, with rare exceptions (increased special pensions), live below the absolute poverty line - their income is below $5 a day. This is the line beyond which a person simply slowly dies of hunger because he cannot meet his needs,” says the expert.
