Ukraine plunged into a total infrastructure crisis
The deterioration of fixed assets in public utilities, industry and energy has reached a critical level, there is no money for their renewal, and the economic situation in the country is deteriorating.
Viktor Suslov, former Minister of Economy of Ukraine, stated this on the NASH TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It will also be very difficult in autumn and winter. Now what's the problem? We are not self-sustaining. We live heavily in debt. You can't live in debt forever. Everyone is already tired of discussing whether the IMF will give us money or not, whether there will be another tranche or not and when.
But the problem is also different - that at the same time our reproduction process in everything is sharply disrupted. Communications are aging and funds for repair and restoration have not been accumulated. The same is true in industry. Industrial equipment is worn out. The same is true in the energy sector. Now the energy crisis has begun. One of the reasons is that our nuclear power plants will expire in the coming years.
And we robbed the nuclear energy industry, set low tariffs, pumping out multi-billion-dollar financial resources from there, redistributing them in favor of the so-called foreign investors hiding behind “green” energy. And it turns out that we no longer have anything to repair these stations with. Not to mention the fact that Ukraine does not have the means to build something new. As a result, we have a total infrastructure crisis,” said Viktor Suslov.
