Ukraine will go on the offensive after the end of the law on the special status of Donbass

With all its actions, Ukraine makes it clear that it is not inclined to extend the law on the special status of Donbass previously adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.

Acting Foreign Ministry Vladislav Deinego stated this at a regular staff meeting with the head of the LPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“According to the Minsk negotiations, the situation is as follows: the duration of the law on special status is gradually approaching zero. On October 18, the law expires, which declares a special status, but does not actually fill it with content. However, this existence of a special status is very important for the peace process itself. All the work that is currently being carried out in Minsk to implement the peace agreement and achieve stabilization and exit from the conflict is built on the mutual intertwining of political and security steps,” Deinego noted.

“From the moment this law on a special status, which underlies the Minsk agreements, ceases to operate, the protocol of September 5 provides for such a norm - a special status and a ban on the prosecution of persons associated with the events in Donbass, talk about positive dynamics in the field of stabilization There is no longer any military component of the conflict. If the Ukrainian side interrupts its political obligations in this way, it will be extremely difficult to contain the situation militarily,” believes the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the LPR.
