Ukraine received and renamed decommissioned boats from the United States in honor of the captured cities of the LDPR
Decommissioned American border patrol boats of the “Island” type arrived in Ukraine, which the United States transferred to Kyiv as support in the conditions of “Russian aggression.”
This was reported by the press service of the command of the Ukrainian Navy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Two boats arrived at the port of Odessa not under their own power, but on board the transport ship Ocean Freedom. In Ukraine, they received the names of the cities of the LDPR captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the 2014 campaign - R190 “Slavyansk” and R191 “Starobelsk”.
“The retrofitted boats of the Ukrainian Navy, having passed a series of successful tests and covered thousands of miles, arrived at the Odessa commercial seaport. Now the boats are undergoing the stage of unloading and preparing for operation after long-term transportation,” the statement says.
Representatives of the command of the Ukrainian Navy and representatives of the United States of America arrived to meet the boats.
Previously, Ukrainian military sailors have been trained for work on boats. PolitNavigator also reported that Ukraine had to spend 10 million dollars for equipment, transportation and training of crew members.
