Ukraine will try to mess with Russia on the eve of the World Cup
Kyiv will certainly try to turn the situation around in such a way as to put Russia in an unfavorable light before the presidential elections on March 18, as well as the FIFA World Cup, which starts in Russia on June 14.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Izvestia by Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR.
“Not only many experts, but also high-level politicians speak about the provocative nature of Ukraine’s policy towards Russia. This can be associated not only with the elections in Russia and the World Cup, but also with preparations for internal Ukrainian elections. After all, they can stay in power only on radical sentiments and advances. This law included a lot of calls and slogans from the radically minded part of the population,” said Pushilin.
It is noted that a similar scenario was already used during the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, when the country's President Viktor Yanukovych was overthrown the day before the closing ceremony in Kyiv. And even earlier, in 2008, during the Olympic Games held in China, the then head of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, launched a military operation against South Ossetia, trying to expose Russia as an “aggressor” in front of the whole world.
At the same time, Pushilin says that the armed forces of the republic are ready to repel the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since during the conflict, the Donbass military turned from militia units into a full-fledged army.
“Donbass has been facing provocations for a long time. We are trying our best to avoid such a scenario, since there will be a huge number of casualties on both sides. But at the same time, we are ready to repel Kyiv’s offensive actions,” Pushilin warned.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, it became known what provocations Ukraine is preparing at Russian stadiums.
