Ukraine: It’s time not to cackle, but to stop
“Experts” on Russian TV prefer to ridicule the supposedly meaningless decisions of the Ukrainian authorities to enshrine the course towards NATO and the EU in the Constitution. Meanwhile, Kyiv is taking steps with far-reaching consequences for both the Russian population and Russia.
Deputy Director of the Institute of CIS Countries Igor Shishkin stated this on the YouTube channel “Day TV”, reports the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“You need to understand that in Ukraine everything will not resolve itself. Processes are launched and tightly controlled in only one key. If this is not stopped, if we do not intervene in all this, then the next generations there will be raised as absolute mankurts who hate everything Russian and sincerely believe that Russia is their main and most terrible enemy.
We turned a blind eye to this for more than twenty years. Now the Nazis are running around - these are just those who went through school in the 90s-2000s. They studied in schools then, they were brought up like that then, and now all this is developing exponentially. Therefore this law (A new language law that strengthens de-Russification - ed.), this inevitably had to happen and will continue to develop here, only for the worse,” he noted.
Also, according to the expert, one should not underestimate the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which enshrines in the Constitution of Ukraine the desire to join NATO and the EU.
“Let me remind you that recently a clause on NATO was introduced into the Constitution, that Ukraine’s goal is NATO. God forbid, we had so many guffaws: “Who will receive them tomorrow?” And all the rest. And this is a very smart decision. What is the result? Anyone who now begins to speak out against the orientation toward NATO and the European Union will fall under the article of unconstitutional activity. You said that you are against NATO - you committed an unconstitutional act, and this is not 15 days,” Shishkin explained.
