Ukraine is the last place where Ukrainian investors will come
The oligarchs of Ukraine do not see prospects for themselves in the economy of their country and therefore prefer to invest in foreign assets.
Oleg Ustenko, executive director of the International Blazer Foundation, stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Look, Ukrainian oligarchs are not the ones who invented the Internet. I don’t see Elon Musk among them.
They are all exploiting our resources. Moreover, what seems like a terrible signal to me is the way they invest. For the most part, they are not investing in this economy.
On the one hand, they pursue a policy of diversifying risks, on the other hand, they do not particularly believe in us.
That's why multi-hundred-million dollar real estate purchases in London, that's why a confectionery factory appears near Budapest, that's why mines appear in the USA. And this goes on.
Many of them see their prospects in other markets, which are more comfortable in terms of protecting property rights,” the expert concluded.
Let us remind you that in the Ukrainian media Ustenko is called one of President Zelensky’s likely candidates for the post of prime minister. He is known for the fact that in past years, as an economist, he actively lobbied for Ukraine’s cooperation with the IMF.
