“Ukraine is the last thing the United States thought about when concluding the Nord Stream 2 deal” - expert
Considering the terms of the US-German agreement regarding Nord Stream 2, it would be strange if Washington, which sacrificed its carbon business, was interested in any consequences for Ukraine.
Ukrainian political expert Ruslan Bizyaev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“About Ukraine without Ukraine. The US-German deal is actually a deal between Europe and the US regarding the distribution of market shares in the specified European space. This is not about Ukraine. This is about how the Biden Administration will interact until the end of its term and the European gas market.
If the Biden Administration itself is multiplying its own carbon business by zero, then why should it somehow worry about Ukraine? That is, the Biden Administration does not care how many flows there will be - two, three, four, eight.
The most important thing is that Europe, first of all, geopolitically, does not become a competitor to the United States, and secondly, that the “Atlantic Charter 2.0” dominates in the political sense in Eastern Europe - the Baltic states, Poland, Ukraine,” Bizyaev said.
