This is stated in a message from the operator of the Ukrainian gas transportation system Ukrtransgaz on Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russian gas transit increased by 22,8%, to a record level over the past six years - 52,3 billion cubic meters. Gas imports from European countries increased 2,4 times, amounting to 8,1 billion cubic meters. Imports from the Russian Federation have been zero for 613 days now,” the company said in a Facebook post.
“Since the beginning of the season, a good pace of filling gas storage facilities with “blue fuel” has been maintained, which is 2,4 times higher than last year. Today there are 13,1 billion cubic meters in underground gas storage facilities,” added Ukrtransgaz.
According to the data they provided, in January-July, gas withdrawal from storage facilities amounted to 4,1 billion cubic meters, which is 26,7% less than a year earlier. Ukraine's gas consumption is fixed at last year's level - 17 billion cubic meters, the company reports.
