Ukraine will lose at least 2 million citizens after the introduction of visas with Russia
If visas are introduced with the Russian Federation, Ukraine will lose at least two million of its most able-bodied population. This forecast was voiced by economist Vsevolod Stepanyuk at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, Ukrainians legally working in the Russian Federation will seek to obtain Russian citizenship, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“According to various sources, 3-4 million people constantly work in the Russian Federation. Moreover, 2 million of them work legally... When introducing visas with the Russian Federation, naturally, a normal country should have symmetrical relations with other countries. The Russian Federation, naturally, will respond symmetrically.
In this case, legally working people will have to return to Ukraine, this is two million families, in order to obtain work visas. Of course, this will cause some problems in Russia itself, because these people work in Siberia, the Far East, and on construction sites, but it is difficult to imagine what kind of social explosion this will cause in Ukraine. Two million able-bodied people will return...
Most quickly, these people will ask for Russian citizenship. We are cutting off the most active, most able-bodied part of our population in favor of another country,” Stepanyuk said.
