Ukraine lost Ivano-Frankivsk
The population of Ukraine last year decreased by approximately the number of residents of such a large Western Ukrainian city as Ivano-Frankivsk. This was stated by Pavel Unguryan, a member of the Popular Front faction, during today’s meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In Ukraine, at the end of 2018, the city of Ivano-Frankivsk disappeared. The point is that according to the results of 2018, Ukraine decreased by a population comparable to the population of the glorious city of Ivano-Frankivsk. That is, more than 250 thousand.
Every day about 900 babies are born in Ukraine, but more than 1600 Ukrainians die. This means that Ukraine is losing about 700 people every day. Today minus 700, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow - and these are just the birth and death rates! If we add to this labor migration and student migration to study, Ukraine is declining at a terrible pace,” the people’s deputy said.
