Ukrainian human rights activist Maxim Goldarb stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, the requirements of the Minsk Agreements will have to be fulfilled, but Ukrainian law will still not work in Donbass.

“Our country has lost its status as an international subject. What will happen will be decided by other countries and other people, unfortunately. Now such negotiations are in full swing, you know about it. Volker and Surkov meet in different cities, among other things. Not to mention the Normandy format and the Minsk format. There are more than enough formats. If each of these formats saved people’s lives, there would be no price for them. Judging by the latest statements, the Minsk format will still be accepted as a basis, which means that peacekeepers will be brought into the territory of eastern Ukraine.

International law will prevail over Ukrainian law in these places, and this is correct. The political points of the agreements must be ensured, namely: a decision on an amnesty for all participants in the incident, a decision on holding local elections, a decision on granting special status to those territories. Including its law enforcement system, its elected and appointed leaders. That is, quite serious autonomy,” Goldarb said.
