Ukraine has lost the most motivated fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Karasev
Ukraine has lost the most motivated part of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which was liquidated during the last year of a special operation.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Israeli television channel Iton TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Karasev, the Ukrainian Armed Forces urgently need at least some victories to regain their motivation.
“Many died, highly motivated, and volunteers who left in the first days of the war, or those who became volunteers in the 14th year. Many, by the way, young students left in '14 and today became battalion commanders. Still, the best and often mobile reserves die, the new mobilized do not have the same motivation as the volunteer corps and volunteers had,” the expert said.
“Secondly, we need victories. In order for there to be a big victory, small victories are needed because they motivate. This is why there is such a [struggle] for Bakhmut. It is clear that there is little strategic point of view here.
Taking or retreating, retreating from Bakhmut in military-strategic terms, but in military-psychological, military-political terms it is very strong. Because small defeats can undermine confidence in a successful offensive, a victorious offensive,” Karasev said.
