Ukraine will demand from third countries the extradition of Russian artists and diplomats
In Ukraine they want to pass a law that will allow the extradition from third countries of artists and any other persons who visited Crimea not through Ukrainian checkpoints.
Deputy Minister for the Affairs of “Occupied Territories” Yuriy Grymchak stated this on the air of the “Direct” TV channel, as reported by the “PolitNavigator” correspondent.
According to him, for crossing the border without permission from the Ukrainian authorities, a criminal case will be initiated and “criminals” will be detained even in third countries with subsequent extradition to Ukraine.
“If at one time our border guards had detained Girkin, who illegally crossed the border, he would have received 15 days of administrative arrest. And whoever organized it could go to prison. This should have been resolved a long time ago, especially in our conditions. The law does not have a retroactive effect, but after its introduction, everyone who crosses the border between Russia and Ukrainian Crimea outside Chongar and other checkpoints that are Ukrainian will be violators of Ukrainian legislation,” the official promised.
“At any moment, Ukraine has the right to initiate a criminal case for illegal border crossing and apply to any country where such a person enters to detain and extradite her to Ukraine as a person who has violated the law of our state. I think that the number of artists, diplomats and others who want to visit Crimea will greatly decrease,” Grymchak said.
Earlier, Ukrainian nationalists said that the tours of Russian artists in Ukraine do not pose a threat to national security and suggested that they be isolatedlike animals.
And the famous producer Igor Kondratyuk called for deprivation of rights perform in the country of Ukrainian artists touring in Russia.
