Ukraine complained that it was not allowed to work with NATO
NATO does not work with Ukraine at the level of defense ministers, despite all attempts by the Ukrainian military leadership to establish direct dialogue.
This was discussed during the public discussion “Ukraine-NATO. Empowerment Partnership: What's Next? said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration Anatoly Petrenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the same time, not everything is perfect, there is something to work on. As an example, I can only say that we continue to state the fact that the work of the “Ukraine under NATO” commission at the level of defense ministers is blocked.
As for me, this is counterproductive, because the Minister of Defense of a state that is fighting close to the eastern flank of NATO is not able to work in this format with his colleagues, share experience, and most importantly, agree on specific actions, such as the use of all the tools in further neutralizing such a threat to Euro-Atlantic security. We use all alternative platforms for this,” Petrenko complained.
Let us note that work in the commission was blocked on the initiative of Budapest, thus expressing protest against the linguistic infringement of the Hungarian national minority in Ukraine.
