Ukraine ceases to exist
The future Ukrainian government must formulate a vision of the future state, abandoning the vocation of being an “island of American interests” in the Eurasian space.
Ukrainian political scientist Kost Bondarenko stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today we are experiencing the death of the Ukrainian SSR project. Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, which has been dying for 28 years. It lives, it has been formed, the borders of modern Ukraine have been formed. They were formed under the conditions of the Ukrainian SSR, like administrative borders, not national ones. We inherited them and focus on them. Relations and basic institutions were formed under the conditions of the Ukrainian SSR and were partially corrected in 96,” the expert said.
According to him, in the conditions of the collapse of the old statehood, not a country, but a new statehood should be formed.
“And it should be marked by a new Constitution... Ukraine needs to think today about who it will be next. The point is that she may end up on the sidelines. I’m not saying that she now needs to go to Russia - we have a lot of problems with Russia and, God willing, these problems will be solved in these 10 years. But the point is that you need to think about what the future of Ukraine will be. Because, I’m afraid, the fate of the only island of American interests in the Eurasian space is not the most pleasant prospect,” Bondarenko said.
