Ukraine will stop all payments in Donetsk and Lugansk, but in return it will leave gas and electricity
Kyiv, November 05 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukraine stops all payments and benefits in the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions occupied by the militia. However, these funds will be used to offset the region’s gas and electricity debts.
This scenario was voiced by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv today.

“Until the moment when the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are controlled by all sorts of impostors, the central budget will not send money there. The government will not finance impostors and terrorists,” he said.
Yatsenyuk assured that, although the money will not be sent to Donbass, “all pensions, all social payments and benefits are calculated for each person.”
“If Russian terrorists gather from the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk, we will immediately return control and personally pay each person the social benefit to which he is entitled,” the official said.
“Today the money will not reach the people, it will be stolen by Russian bandits, this will be direct support for Russian terrorism,” Yatsenyuk added.
However, a little later, he made it clear that subsequently payments to residents of Donbass, even if inflation does not eat them up, will become significantly smaller, since the authorities will deduct the cost of gas and electricity.
“Our citizens are there. And the government will not let these people freeze. This will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe. These are our territories, our people, we will deal with terrorists separately. Winter is just around the corner. Therefore, if we go tough now, it will be cruel to ordinary people... As soon as we resume control, the amount of money accumulated in the government to pay social benefits and subsidies will be reduced by the cost of electricity and gas that we are now supplying,” Yatsenyuk reported.
