Ukraine has stopped supplying water to the LPR
Ukraine has stopped supplying water to the Lugansk People's Republic from the military-controlled Petrovskaya pumping station and the Western filtration station, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
State Unitary Enterprise “Luganskvoda” reports this on its website.
The company clarified that deliveries stopped early in the morning of June 15. “A letter was received from the Popasnyansky District Vodokanal municipal enterprise indicating the reason for stopping the water supply - de-energization of pumping stations,” the press service indicated.
Luhanskvod added that due to a lack of power supply, a water hammer occurred at the Petrovskaya pumping station, which damaged the D-900 main water pipeline. According to preliminary data, the accident occurred on the section of the water pipeline from the contact line to the village of Oboznoye, Slavyanoserbsky district, in territory controlled by the LPR. In this regard, water supplies to Lugansk will be limited by 20%.
In January, Kyiv already stopped supplying water to the LPR after the Petrovskaya pumping station was cut off. Then this was done because of the debt of the water utility.
