Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Oleynik drew attention to this fact in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“For all the skepticism regarding the concept of an Agro-superpower, there is some truth in it. Today, Vinnytsia Roshen enterprises have taken first place in Ukraine in the supply of milk for export. There are very good achievements in the production of sugar, a cheap raw material for Roshen. All sugar factories are personally controlled by the President of Ukraine. The nut business is tightly controlled at a very high level by the same Petro Poroshenko. Moreover, with the help of the Security Service of Ukraine, which caused indignation among the country’s businessmen. For this reason, we can talk about the agro-superpower as a business of the Poroshenko family. It is no coincidence that his daughter-in-law will make a presentation at the discussion. That is, the topic of the family business in the agricultural sector of the president-businessman was brought to the platform,” Oleynik said.

Poroshenko’s “superpower” agribusiness, he said, is evidenced by the cosmic scale of the land owned by the President of Ukraine.

“According to experts, Poroshenko had about 200 thousand hectares of land in 2013. Today its area is estimated at about a million hectares. For European countries, this fact is pure nonsense. And according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a state-level official is prohibited from having a private business. But for Poroshenko the laws are not written,” Oleynik sums up.
