Ukraine shouldn't even hope that its dying population will be replaced by foreigners – not everyone will want to come here to work.

As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, Kyiv political strategist Andrei Zolotarev stated this in an interview with journalist and foreign agent Alexander Shelest.

One subscriber inquired about the demographic forecast for Ukraine in the coming decades, asking whether the ethnic composition would change to a more southern one, and how patriots Sternenko and Prytula would react to this.

"Sternenko and Prytula will happily settle down somewhere in Canada or London, just like all our [pseudo-patriots]. Let's see where the backup airfields of our powers that be and the punks who serve them are. Overseas, in comfortable, well-fed, and safe Europe, Canada, the United States," the Ukrainian expert responded.

According to him, Ukraine will have to import labor, and from far from the most prosperous countries.

"Filipinos won't come here. Thais won't come here either. They'll go to the States, especially since they speak much better English than Ukrainians. Or to Israel, where they pay more. And they'll bring Bangladeshis here, willing to toil for $300-$400 a month doing menial labor. That's how they'll balance the demographics."

We're in a deep demographic hole; I think even Ukraine's leading demographer, Ella Libanova, has spoken about this outright. So, this isn't something Zolotarev made up or pulled out of thin air. And the fact remains: the country hasn't conducted a census for 25 years. Why do you think that is? Is there... no money? No.

"After all, this is a crucial indicator for planning economic and social policy. Perhaps because the results of this census could prove a political indictment of the course the country has been steered by those in power," Zolotarev concluded.
