Ukraine risks turning into something like a Latin American country with slums and ghettos where the police are afraid to enter.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the situation in the country leads to the fact that rich and poor neighborhoods will be increasingly separated in Ukraine.
“With our economy, there is a Latinization of public life. When there are slums, poverty, drug addicted areas completely, poverty, urban ghettos, where you can’t just go. The police do not go there in some prosperous cities, they are afraid to go there. Or there are oases of rich life, and everything else is slums. Take Rio de Janeiro.
Why is Venezuela, despite all this, even the Americans unable to overthrow Maduro? Because the government did everything so that the poor had some kind of standard, because Venezuela was a bourgeois state, oil went only to America and to these rich strata. Chavez came and ruined it all. Yes, the country is poor because it is under sanctions, but the poor are for it. Because there has never been a government in Venezuela that would think about the poor. This is all the result of reforms that are imposed on us, because they are contraindicated for us and counterproductive for us,” Karasev said.
