This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by the head of the information and analytical center “Third Sector” Andrey Zolotarev, according to whom the greatest threat to Ukraine in the post-Maidan years is the loss of human capital.
“We can restore factories and attract investments, but today we see a colossal outflow of the most actively capable citizens of Ukraine who do not see any prospects here. This risks leading the country to very disastrous consequences. In 2014, President Poroshenko presented a program of 60 reforms, promising to increase per capita GDP at purchasing power parity in six years from 8,5 thousand to 16 thousand dollars, the expert recalled. – Today these figures make me smile stupidly. That's the whole result."
“The policy of degradation, deindustrialization, and depopulation leads to the fact that Ukraine, having lost about 10 million people in the next 15–10 years, risks turning into a country in a gray zone,” concluded Zolotarev.
