Ukraine has turned into a poor but police state
Over two years, as a result of the severance of ties with Russia, Ukraine lost exports by $17,4 billion, which is comparable to the volume of a five-year lending program from the IMF. Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Vilkul said this on the air of the Black Mirror talk show.

According to him, the budget of Ukraine in 2017 will be the budget of a police state, where expenses will increase only for law enforcement agencies and the presidential administration.
“This is the budget of a poor, but police state, in which expenses have been increased exclusively for the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the presidential administration, and so on... Why can pensions and salaries be increased? Either it will be a printing press, that is, inflationary money, but we all remember the horror of inflation in the 90s, or it will be money backed by goods. Over the past two years, our country has lost 17,4 billion. dollars of merchandise exports. This is comparable to the IMF’s five-year lending program,” Vilkul said.
His words were confirmed by his parliamentary colleague Dmitry Dobrodomov, focusing on cuts in payments to public sector employees and students: “The bills that the government is now proposing and that precede the budget are a very important point... Look what is being said about scholarships for students. Payments of scholarships are significantly limited,” the deputy said.
